What are the benefits of Yoga?

Updated: Sep 7, 2021

There are many benefits to yoga and thankfully the research is now showing this more and more. I’ll do a blog on this soon to strengthen my case ( my list lengthens!). In the meantime, here’s a taster of what yoga has to offer:

Physical benefits include some of the following:

· Improved flexibility

· Improved strength

· Reduced pain

· Improved breathing pattern

· Better posture

· Less fatigued

Mind/well-being benefits

· Reduced stress levels

· Better sleep

· Improved body awareness

· Better relationship with your body ( maybe getting to like it more, appreciate it)

· Better sense of responsibility for your body

· Just enjoying what your body can do for you

Yoga also has energetic properties ( sounds a bit hippy, doesn’t it?). But it’s well known that certain yoga poses energise you, and others make you feel more grounded. Also, different folk like the effect of certain poses, and not others. It’s all a learning process to what suits YOU. I tailor my evening classes so you won’t be too energised at bed time!
